Note:  To save $ on food we will begin ordering Pizza in the middle of the meeting to get a better head count.

All dues must be paid by Monday February 14th to be included on Rack Card
Individual members will be included on website as soon as membership fees are paid.

Mita update:  David Legere
The following positions have been filled at MITA

Trish ODonnell, Director of internal operations in Portland
Tom Franklin Director of outreach and marketing
Other:  Mita is looking for a caretaker in Stonington



Issues Discussed:

I.  Insurance Issues
As many in the Maskgi membership have dealt with issues of high insurance premiums a sharing of insurance companies that may offer better rates was discussed

II. Boater Registration and Tax issues
There is a push to register boats to receive income for use of waterways, Bill also includes a push for hunting on Sundays to increase revenues.
   Maskgi Response: III. Meals Tax:
We would like to have someone find out the details of this and present to the organization how outfitters can best document this tax.

IV. Eco Tourism Conference in Bar Harbor
First National conference on Eco tourism in the United States will be held in Bar Harbor, Sept 14 - 15

Build collaboration
Create US Advisory Group
Draft and approve Bar Harbor Declaration
Market US as an ecotourism destination
Note:  Bill Baker Suggested that Maskgi position themselves as models of ecotourism
V. Headwaters Institute Involvement
Dave Legere reported that Headwater wanted financial support from Maskgi membership for a Natural choices website.  After attempting to research the site and finding that it does not exist yet, Dave suggested we table involvement until a site is available for evaluation.   Website: NaturalChoices.org
